Felicia Hunt has recently relocated to Baton Rouge, LA after residing in Grand Prairie TX the past year. She is a prolific artist whose work is highly sought in both states, selling many of her paintings before the paint is even dry. Felicia's perception of beauty is the major force behind her work, most of which revolves around the voluptuous female form. She has a deep appreciation for sisterhood that shines through her paintings. Her inspiration comes from women of all colors and walks of life who have stories of love, loss, survival and struggles. She captures these experiences wonderfully, from images of delightful African-American church ladies proudly wearing festive hats, to the "Girls' Night Out" gatherings. She paints mostly with acrylics in order to keep up with the high demand for her work. Felicia recently met and spoke with internationally acclaimed artist Annie Lee, who was very impressed with Felicia's work. She told Felicia that she is "an artist who has created her own style." Hunt burst upon the public scene when she won an award as "Art Student of the Year" in 1999, and again in 2001 when she placed first in a statewide juried art show in Lousiana, where renowned artist Bill Jensen served as one of the judges. Her art has been seen in the movie “Father of Lies,” and was also shown at the Stephanie Ward Gallery in Plano, TX. She is currently a featured artist at the Elizabethan Gallery in Baton Rouge, LA and The Upstairs Gallery in Arlington, TX. Felicia also shares her gift with others through speaking engagements, most recently as a guest lecturer at Clay Academy (the school founded by Bishop T.D. Jakes) in Dallas, TX. She has also spoken at several schools in Baton Rouge, LA. Hunt received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Lousiana State University, where she graduated on the Dean's List.
